Record Description : The Quality Assurance Unit of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) conducts quality assurance audits on WebCheck agencies to ensure compliance with state and federal statutes regarding the submission and dissemination of fingerprint-based criminal backgrounds, as well as, ensuring compliance with BCI guidelines regarding the use of WebCheck equipment used to complete fingerprint-based criminal backgrounds. Audits may be conducted on records containing BCI and/or FBI results every year. Audits on the use of WebCheck equipment located in the Office of Human Resources, Criminal Records Unit, are conducted every 3 years. Records may include, but are not limited to, fingerprint transactions submitted through WebCheck equipment, background checks of individuals operating equipment, MOU between WebCheck agency and BCI, Waiver agreements, Dissemination Logs, Policies regarding record storage of Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) and policies for misuse of CHRI, results of audit, correspondence between BCI and the Ohio Department of Public Safety, etc.
