Record Description : This record series includes all pertinent information pertaining to the employment history for all of the employees (including College Interns) employed by The Ohio Department of Transportation. This record series may contain but is not limited to the following documents: Personnel Actions, Discipline Documentation, Employee Forms, Applications, Certifications and Performance Evaluations. This file is compiled and maintained by the Central Office and District Personnel Sections.

Upon separation of the employee, the employee’s Personnel File is transferred to the inactive file area. It will then be held, in the inactive area, for a period of two (2) years. After this two (2) year period the file will be sent for proper disposal (i.e. shredding). If employee leaves the Ohio Department of Transportation to transfer to another State Agency an Employee Work History report will be printed and place in file before moving file to inactive area.
