Record Description : In accordance with section 2937.221 of the Ohio Revised Code, any person arrested under specific traffic violation may post bond by depositing a current valid drivers license to the arresting officer or the court. If the person arrested fails to appear in court at the given time, the license of such person is then forwarded from the court to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The BMV notifies the person no valid drivers or commercial drivers license shall be issued to the person after the suspension unless the court having jurisdiction orders the termination of the forfeiture.

All hard copy cases closed before July 2, 1990 will be retained at agency storage for one year, then destroyed. The hard copies are destroyed after they are microfilmed and processed film proofread and verified, or after they are scanned into the Optic Image System.	Paper	Shred
