Record Description :  Under section 4507.08 of the Ohio Revised Code and Administrative Code, Chapter 4501, Sections 4501:1-1-16 and 4501:1-1-17, state that any person who is convicted three (3) or more times within the immediately preceding three (3) year period of any combination of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or a controlled substance (D.U.I.) shall have his/her driving privileges suspended. At that time, a case is established. Each case contains copies of Notification of Suspension form, BMV 2331, Reinstatement Form, BMV 2326, and correspondence. The offenders driving priviledges are suspended until such time the Bureau receives the required clearance. The cases are microfilmed or imaged numerically by an assigned case number.

Effective November 19, 1984, all cases generated before or after this date, will be on microfilm-microfiches. The original documents are retained until microfilmed; and the processed film verified or until scanned into the Optic Image System. The hard copies are then destroyed. Paper Shred
The microfilm will not be duplicated due to continual updating of records. Microfilm - microfiche is retained for 50 years or three (3) years after the driving priviledges have been reinstated with no further convictions, whichever is greater.
