Record Description : Evidence submitted to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) by a law enforcement agency, prosecutor, subject, or witness, to be forensically analyzed. BCI provides forensic services on the evidence, provides written and automated forensic reports regarding the evidence, and returns the original evidence to the original agency afterwards. Records include, but are not limited to, evidence received from law enforcement agency, prosecutor, or witness; imaged or extract files of the evidence for BCI to work with; intake forms; technical reports generated by forensic tools; written narrative reports generated by BCI staff; and resulting forensic copies of the evidence.
