Retain hard copy until scanned and indexed into LIMS. Once the hard copy has been scanned and indexed, the hard copy can be destroyed. This record series contains: • Case notes and final LIMS report inside original LIMS case jacket. • Homicides, unresolved missing person cases or unfound escapees. • Working copies of evidence when available; case notes, final report. For all other cases the following must be kept five (5) years or upon notice that the case has been adjudicated.
