Statute of Limitations Contract Termination Date Prior to 09-28-2005 Statute of Limitations Date 16 years from date of expiration or termination. Contract Termination Date 09-28-2005 to 09-28-2012 Statute of Limitations Date 09-28-2020 (Section 4 shortens existing date). Contract Termination Date After 9-28-2012 Statute of Limitations Date nine years from date of expiration or termination (O.R.C.2305.06). Retention Justification for Paper and Machine Readable Media O.R.C. 2305.06 Contract in writing. Except as provided in sections 126.301 and 1302.98 of the R.C., an action upon a specialty or an agreement, contract, or promise in writing shall be brought within eight years after the cause of action accrued. Section 4. For causes of action that are governed by section 2305.06 R.C. and accrued prior to the effective date of this act, the period of limitations shall be eight years from the effective date of this act or the expiration of the period of limitations in effect prior to the effective date of this act, whichever occurs first. These contracts are for training instructors for classes given by the Division of Safety and Hygiene. The instructors’ contracts are usually for one year.
