Record Description : These records were generated for the 6-year project to evaluate the effectiveness of ODJFS’ Ohio Works First (OWF) program that provides time-limited cash assistance to needy families with (or expecting) children, and furnishes parents or specified relatives with work, training, and other support services they need in order to attain permanent self-sufficiency while meeting the family's on going basic needs. The records include: 1) individual surveys of recipient’s OWF experience, employment situation, wage information, health and health insurance status, access to health services, and general well being or barriers to that well being; 2) wage record, Medicaid, food stamp, housing and child care, eligibility, benefit and services data generated from CRIS-E, Benefits, and Data Warehouse systems; 3) mail survey data from 10 ODJFS county offices staff concerning their experiences and opinions about OWF and OWF clients; 4)summaries from on-site interviews with management staff in 10 counties to discuss their experiences with implementing the OWF program; and 5) various financial, contractual, correspondent, and project management information.
