Operator permits are retained as evidence for multiple criminal prosecutions, both misdemeanors and felonies, which have up to a six year statute of limitations for initiating the charge. R.C. 2901.13. However, cases can remain in warrant status for many years beyond this, causing the evidence to be needed well into the future in order to secure successful prosecutions. |
