Record Description : When a private entity engages in certain activities within the state, Ohio law requires that securities be pledged to the Ohio Treasury for the benefit of the agency that regulates such activities. These securities are held in trust and indemnify the relevant agency in the event that a pledgor defaults on an obligation arising from the performance of the specific activity. The Pending Pledge Report shows the information as entered into the Treasurer''s computer system for each security pledged to a state agency and deposited with the Treasurer. Once this information is verified for accuracy, record numbers are assigned to the pledges, and the Pledge Report is generated. Separate reports are generated for each agency submitting pledged securities to the Treasurer on any given business day. These reports list the name of the pledgor, pledgee, and details about the pledged security (type, amount, maturity date, CUSIP).
