Record Description : In accordance with section 4506.13 Division B of the Ohio Revised Code, if an individual (a first time commercial driver or a new resident) applies for an Ohio commercial driver license at a Highway Patrol Examination Station or a Deputy Registrar, a computer check is made through the National Driver Register and through the Commercial Driver License Information System, for verification of the applicant''''s driving record. If records indicate that the person is under suspension either in Ohio or another state, the Examination Station or the Deputy Registrar will forward to the Driver License Special Case CDL/OSP Section, either the Application For Temporary Instruction Permit. The applicant will have sixty (60) days to comply with the necessary requirements. The Bureau would need a clearance letter from the other state''''s Bureau of Motor Vehicles showing that the suspension was terminated and the driving privileges reinsated in that state or the Commercial Driver License Information System must be cleared.
