Record Description :  The Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Files are medical treatment dispute packets received from Managed Care Organizations (MCO) that can be processed. The Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Files contain the ADR Information Guide, peer to peer file review or independent medical examination report, MCO or BWC appeal, appropriate peer to peer review, appropriate C-9 or treatment request, initial C-9 review, initial MCO Decision, MCO ADR Summary Report, Provider of Record (POR) Medical Diagnostics and Consultations along with V-3 notes on the left side of file. The ADR Files are scanned into the Universal Document Service (UDS). The Universal Document Service (UDS) is an imaging concept that stores any type of electronic file, such as Microsoft Office documents, Adobe Acrobat, audio/video, Computer Aided Design (CAD), etc. as well as scanned images.

Scan the ADR Files into UDS, retain the original ADR Files in the ADR Unit for 120 days, verify for quality assurance, send to Mafil, and then destroy. Paper Shred
The machine readable information will be reviewed every 3 years to ensure that the files can still be accessed. Scan the original Portable Document Format (PDF) of the ADR Files into the Medical Claims and retain the ADR Files for 20 years, and then destroy. Ohio Revised Code 2305.06 states that an action upon a specialty or an agreement, contract, or promise in writing shall be brought within fifteen years after the cause thereof accrued.
