Record Description : Record series consists of covert license plate applications, registrations, and related correspondence. Covert registrations are issued to city, county, township, state or federal government agencies for unmarked vehicles after a certification for undercover plates has been completed and signed by an applicant agencies approved official and the Registrar. Vehicles issued covert license plates are to be used only for investigations and undercover surveillance. The registration is generated when new, transfer, replacement or renewal plates are issued on commercial/non-commercial truck, passenger vehicles, motor homes, motorcycles, trailers, etc. Covert plate registration applications are filed as new, transfer, replacement, or renewal. The registration contains: License plate number, government agency name/code, address, vehicle year, make, type, serial number, title number, odometer reading, purchase date, issuance date, expiration date, tax district, county code, old application number, new application number, deputy name, agency number, and location. The application contains: Government agency name, address, vehicle year, make, type, serial number and title number co-owner name/code and address.
