Record Description : If an individual is involved in a crash, receiveS a citation or IS randomly selected and did not have insurance or proof of financial responsibility at the time of the incident, their driving and registration privileges will be suspended for a period of 90 days to 1 year (if multiple offender). In order to reinstate their driving privileges, they must serve the suspension and pay a reinstatement fee which may range from $30 to $550 based on the date of the incident and prior suspensions for noncompliance. They are also required to file and maintain financial responsibility insurance with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles in the form of an insurance certificate (SR-22) or a financial responsibility bond for a period of three to five years from the effective date of suspension. Registration privileges may be restored upon receipt of the required reinstatement fee(s) and proof of financial responsibility insurance. This would allow another person to operate the vehicle during the period of license suspension. All incoming correspondence relating to the above suspension are stored in the image case folder.
