Record Description : Individuals seeking to obtain a certificate to practice as a First Responder or EMT, must pass an examination approved by the State Board of EMS. (Provided for in O.R.C. 4765.30). The examination approved for each level is provided by the National Registry of EMTs. Answer documents are graded by the NREMTs with exam results reported to the Division of EMS. Exam results are reported by training institution and include the name of the individual, mailing address, social security number, exam date, exam level, and exam scores. Accredited institutions are required by O.A.C. to demonstrate a minimum of 65% passing percentage on the first exam attempt of all students successfully completing training at their program (for each accreditation cycle).
